Current Projects (God willing):

If you missed seeing the Bible Exhibition at the Campus in June, it would be worth your while making the journey to Taunton Library during the period 23rd to 26th August, where the exhibition is to be shown again.   Here at Weston-super-Mare, we are showing the film "God's Outlaw" at our hall in Mansfield Avenue, God willing, on Wednesday 21st July at 7.30 p.m.

"God’s Outlaw” is about the life of William Tyndale, the 16th century scholar who translated the Bible into English.  He lived at a time of great oppression when even to recite the Lord’s Prayer in English was forbidden and punishable by death.   The ‘King James’ version of the Bible (the ‘Authorised Version’) is based on his work and next year will be the 400th anniversary of its publication.

Tyndale was a highly regarded and qualified scholar determined that the ordinary people should be able to read the Scriptures in their native language, and he gave up his life to that work.   Translating in secret, moving from place to place both here and on the Continent, his work progressed during the reign of King Henry VIII who sought to have him arrested until eventually he was captured, tried, and put to death.

‘God’s Outlaw’ is a very powerful portrayal of Tyndale’s life.  It reveals his stand for truth against superstition and sheds light on the hypocrisy and false doctrine of his time, much of which regrettably continues today.   This is not a ‘glamorised’ Hollywood production: it deals with facts and is ‘essential viewing’ for all who value their Bible and the way in which God has brought it into our hands today.
